Painting by Susi London, "Autumn Years", was selected for Mall Galleries exhibition; ROAR – Rhapsody of August Riot, by Swanfall Art, running from 24 to 29 August 2026

Berkshire-based artist Susi London recently marked a major milestone in her creative journey, transitioning from beloved regional open studios to one of London’s most prestigious creative hubs. Her evocative painting, Autumn Years, was selected for ROAR – Rhapsody of August Riot, the highly competitive fourth annual exhibition curated by Swanfall Art at the Mall Galleries.

Running from 24 to 29 August 2026, the exhibition transformed the iconic Mall Galleries into a vibrant, unruly space dedicated to pure creative freedom. For Susi, inclusion in this selective showcase placed her expressive work alongside a global cohort of boundary-pushing contemporary artists.

Capturing the Atmosphere of Change

Susi’s featured piece, Autumn Years, perfectly captured the spirit of the exhibition. Known for her captivating, texture-rich acrylics on canvas—seen in pieces like World on Fire, Transient, and Molten Sunrise—Susi routinely uses nature as a canvas for deeper emotional exploration.

In Autumn Years, she trades rigid realism for an atmospheric, deeply felt response to the cycles of life, resilience, and natural transformation. It is a testament to her unique ability to make landscapes feel intensely personal and alive.

From Ravensbourne to Regional Roots

Susi’s path to the Mall Galleries is a story of a flourishing career rooted in both formal training and a dedicated connection to local art communities. After studying Design at Ravensbourne University and spending two decades immersing herself in the energy of London, she has returned to her birth county of Berkshire to focus on painting.

Since her return, Susi has become a local figure for art lovers across Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. Her transition from local trails to a central London open call highlights the strength of regional artistic networks, beautifully bridging the gap between community open studios and major commercial gallery spaces.
